Google sign-in privacy
Updated October 2, 2026This policy explains Doc-Ease's use of Google account information for optional sign-in. Academic records remain governed by your institution's account-access and record-handling requirements.
What Google shares
For sign-in, Doc-Ease requests only your basic profile and verified email through the openid, email and profile permissions. Google returns an account identifier, email, verification status, name and profile-picture address. Doc-Ease does not receive your Google password.
How this information is used
Your Google account is linked to an existing Doc-Ease account after you sign in with your password and confirm an email verification code. The identifier supports later Google sign-in. Linking does not create a new academic account, change your role, enroll you in classes or approve a pending account.
To start: sign in normally, open Profile, select Account Settings and link Google. Confirm the code sent to the selected email. On later visits, choose Continue with Google. Your existing password remains available.
What is stored
Doc-Ease stores the Google account identifier, email, verification status, name, profile-picture address, linking time and last Google sign-in time. While linking, a temporary record retains the verification-code hash, expiry and attempt history. Security audit records record linking, sign-in and disconnection events.
The sign-in implementation uses Google's access token temporarily to verify your profile; it does not retain sign-in access or refresh tokens. Account and audit records are stored on the service's hosting infrastructure and may be included in operational backups. Contact the responsible administrator about applicable retention periods.
Access and sharing
Your existing Doc-Ease permissions still control access to academic records. Google receives the sign-in request and processes your authorization under its privacy policy. The sign-in flow does not send grades, submissions or other academic records to Google, and does not provide Gmail, Drive or Calendar access.
Separate connected-drive features require their own authorization and are outside this sign-in permission. Google sign-in information is not used by this flow for advertising or sale.
Your choices and support
You can continue using your existing password. To disconnect Google, sign in and use Disconnect Google in Profile Account Settings. You can also revoke Doc-Ease authorization in your Google account. Disconnecting sign-in does not delete your academic account, its records or retained audit and backup history.
For corrections, access or deletion requests, contact your system administrator. Academic-record and backup requests require review under institutional requirements. For Google sign-in questions, you may also use the support address on Doc-Ease's Google consent screen. Never send passwords or verification codes in support messages.
